May 2026: Payotte becomes the directory of verified real estate experts

What Payotte built this month, in numbers and dates, and what it changes for the professionals it recommends.

Published · Grégory Payotte

In short

May 2026 is the month Payotte became a directory of real estate experts. On May 11, Google showed a Payotte expert page for the first time; by month-end, 166 pages of the site had appeared in its results. The principle was set from day one: one professional per sector and per profession, chosen on public data, never on payment. On May 31, the site was rebuilt from the ground up: 988 pages, 130 profiles in Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto, and a public 100-point scoring grid.

This month's headlines

1One expert per sector, and the spot is not for sale

Payotte starts from a simple idea: in each sector, for each of the five professions in a transaction (real estate broker, mortgage broker, home inspector, notary or lawyer, appraiser), it names one professional. The choice is made on public data. On May 11, Google showed a Payotte expert page for the first time.

For you: One spot per profession and per sector is visibility you do not share with twenty competitors. And it is not bought: it is earned.

2Built from day one to be read by AI

On May 22, Payotte adopted its page standard: language, precise location, structured data and short, verifiable answers that ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews and Claude can reuse as is.

For you: Clients increasingly ask their questions to an AI. Your Payotte profile is written so the AI can read it, understand it and cite it.

3988 pages, 130 profiles and a 100-point grid

On May 31, the site was rebuilt from the ground up and redeployed: 988 static pages, 130 profiles in Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto, and sector pages fed with April 2026 market data (APCIQ, TRREB). Each profile carries a score out of 100: Google reviews 35, experience 30, professional title 15, local footprint 15, bonus 5.

For you: The grid is public. You know exactly where your score comes from, and what would raise it.

What it means for you

Payotte is not one more listing site: it is a selection. One spot per profession and per sector, awarded on data anyone can check.

Your profile is free and your rank is not for sale. If you practise in a covered sector, your score reads on your profile, criterion by criterion.

Is your spot still open?

As of today, 58 of the 750 sector × profession spots still have no expert. One spot per profession and per sector: once it is taken, it is taken.

  • Confirm your details: your profile moves to "Recommended" status.
  • Put the badge on your website: your Payotte profile then links back to your site.
  • Payotte is read by AI assistants: through its MCP server, and in Copilot's answers.
