Buying a home in Nagpur: stamp duty, loan, prices

On a ₹50 lakh home in Nagpur, stamp duty comes to at least ₹2,50,000 under Maharashtra rates in force since 7 September 2017.

Data as of 14 October 2026

Nagpur appears among the cities of the RBI House Price Index, but that city series is published only through the RBI DBIE database, so no figure is copied here.

What the page can say is how the deed is taxed. Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Maharashtra, covers the city, which means 5 per cent. Land under a Gram Panchayat would be charged 4 per cent instead.

Stamp duty is computed on the ready reckoner value. The registration happens at the Registration and Stamps Department, Maharashtra, and the rates have held since 7 September 2017.

The totals leave out the Maharashtra registration fee. Its official table was not readable at the time of writing. So ₹2,50,000 and ₹5,00,000 should be read as the smallest sums owed.

Households using the subsidy scheme will see Maharashtra figures only: PMAY-Urban has 10,37,651 homes occupied and 1,08,072 in progress, as of 28 September 2026. No city split is available.

The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority, or MahaRERA, is the register for new projects. Pune, Nashik and Mumbai are covered elsewhere on the site, as is Navi Mumbai.
