In short · September 28, 2026
In Quebec, an assessment roll (rôle d’évaluation) lasts three years and reflects the market on an earlier reference date. You can challenge it with a review request (demande de révision), as a general rule before May 1 of its first year. In 2027, 351 municipalities, including Gatineau and Drummondville, have a new roll: the deadline there will be April 30, 2027.

Frequently asked questions
How do I challenge my property assessment in Quebec?
With a review request on the prescribed form, filed with the municipal body responsible for assessment along with the required fees, as a general rule before May 1 of the first year of the roll.
When is my city’s next assessment roll?
Payotte’s calendar gives it for all 1,131 municipalities. In short: Gatineau and Drummondville in 2027; Québec, Laval, Longueuil, Sherbrooke and Saguenay in 2028; Montréal, Lévis and Terrebonne in 2029.
Can my assessment go up if I challenge it?
Yes. Municipal bodies warn that a review request can lead to a decrease, no change or an increase, because the evaluator reconsiders the whole file.
