Buying a home in Rajasthan: stamp duty and costs

On a ₹50 lakh home in Rajasthan, stamp duty, registration and scanning fee come to at least ₹3,50,300 under Rajasthan rates in force since 1 May 2024.

Data as of 14 October 2026

A purchase in Rajasthan is priced from several components. Stamp duty is 6 per cent, or 5 per cent when the buyer is a woman. Registration is 1 per cent. A fixed scanning fee of ₹300 is added. On ₹50 lakh the sum is ₹3,50,300, and on ₹1 crore it is ₹7,00,300. The word "minimum" applies because the rate sheet announces a surcharge on stamp duty without confirming that it covers a sale deed, so the surcharge is left out of these totals. A buyer should ask the sub-registrar whether it applies to the deed being signed.

The base for the calculation is market value, using the DLC rate. The schedule has been used since 1 May 2024 and is published by the state's registration and stamps department.

For subsidised housing, the PMAY-Urban report dated 28 September 2026 gives Rajasthan 3,81,939 sanctioned houses. A total of 2,85,608 are finished (75%), 2,78,163 are occupied, and 60,295 are still being built.

Developers' projects are registered with the Rajasthan Real Estate Regulatory Authority. Sale deeds are lodged on e-Panjiyan, which is the Property Registration and Land Records Integration portal, and e-Earth (DILRMP) holds the land records. Jaipur is the only Rajasthan city Payotte covers so far.
